Mueller Park Canyon
My aunt and uncle and cousins from Connecticut were visiting at the same time, so my extended family on my mom's side got together to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Mueller Park Canyon is really close to my family's house, so it was a perfect location. The kids had fun playing with lots of kids!
I finally caught a good smile from Joshua while he was sneaking the chocolate for the Smores!

Maggie and Luke
Temple Square
I've wanted to take the kids to Temple Square, but have never made it. We finally went this trip and I think I enjoyed it more then the kids. They did like playing in the reflective pool by the temple though.

Bowling
Now who can pass up a friendly game of bowling?! Since both me and my sister Jamie took bowling at Ricks College we always dominate. Unfortunately Jake beat me this time around! I think he just had a lucky game.

We told Joshua he couldn't pass this line and needed to not touch the balls. We caught a classic picture of him with his hands in his pocket! He only stayed in this position for a few seconds. Luckily no fingers were smashed and no one was hit by a bowling ball.

We also had a water party but I didn't think some of the people in the pictures would enjoy their picture on the Internet (eh hem.....Jake and my Mom)! Here's a cute one of Maggie and Joshua though.

Fishing
We always divide up our time with families, so we headed down to Price half way through our trip to be with Jake's family. Grandpa Manley decided he wanted to take the kids fishing! This was their first time fishing. Over all it was a successful fishing trip, although Maggie got bored and wanted to color and Joshua was scared after seeing the fish wiggling around in Jake's hand. We tried to get him to hold it, but he refused.

Jeff, Joshua and Jake-three generations!

Josh and dad fishing. He caught the first fish and won $5 from Grandpa!
All the grandkids posed for a picture on grandpa's tractor

Grandpa's Jeep! Jeff bought this jeep and it was in such bad shape. Him and a few friends from work restored it and we always get to take a cruise around with Grandpa.
Dinosaur Museum
Price has a fun Dinosaur Museum that we like to go to. Maggie and Joshua are really into dinosaurs, so this is really fun for them. There's a small section where the kids can pretend to dig up dinosaur bones, very cute.

Joshua digging

Maggie and Joshua with their cousins Emma, Jack and Hyrum. They all got matching Fourth of July shirts from Grandma!
Fourth of July!
We had a fun time watching fireworks on the Fourth of July. Most of us piled in the back of Grandpa's truck to watch the show. By the end of it there were only a few left since it got pretty uncomfortable. Joshua and Emma were fine though, they had VIP seats.
Jeff and Kim are going to celebrate their 30th Wedding Anniversary in a few days, so we decided since everyone was in town we would take them out to a nice dinner at the country club. It was good to be together, especially without the kids!
Well, that's our trip in a nut shell. It's good be home, but always fun to go and visit everyone!

you guys are party animals. i can't believe that there was no mention of the 311 concert or perhaps some video of melissa jammin'. it was good to see you guys for a moment and enjoy some country bumpkin breakfast together. your kids are the most handsome we have ever seen. later dudes.
Wow! Those are some great pictures Melissa. Looks like y'all had an a lot of fun on your vacation. Isn't it a little funny and ironic how we have to recover from a vacation--I mean, isn't that the point of a vacation? To get away and relax from the norm, but it almost seems the norm is relaxing since we are so used to that day to day life. Awesome update with the picture overload. Tell Jake I said hi and give those darn cute kids a smooch for me! =)
Nothing beats the annual road trip to Utah! Brings back good memories. Good to have you back in town.
